Majestic Princess touched down on what is claimed to be the world’s first ‘floating runway’ when she arrived in Sydney this morning on a maiden visit to kick-start the 2018/2019 wave season in Australia.

62 buoys with red and white flares

The 1,550-metre-long floating sea-strip was created by 62 buoys with bright red and white flares to guide her path into Sydney Harbour.
 
The 3,560-passenger ship will be based in Sydney for the next six months, carrying almost 70,000 Australian and international travellers on 18 cruises.
 

Four Princess ships in the region

Majestic Princess joins three other Princess Cruises’ ships—Sun Princess, Sea Princess and Golden Princess—in Australia and New Zealand this summer, with the four ships sailing on itineraries from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Fremantle, Adelaide and Auckland.    
 
She will return to Australia in late 2019 for her second extended season in Australia.
 

NCL's first TV ad campaign Down Under

Also this weekend Norwegian Cruise Line launches its first television advertising campaign in Australia.
 
The 30 and 15-second commercials will run over six weeks and will showcase Norwegian’s ‘feel free’ ethos and its product offerings in Hawaii, Alaska and Europe, as well as Australian and New Zealand voyages.
