Just-released renderings of the accommodations depict the first loft suites on the US rivers. Their lower level features a lounge section furnished with a queen sofa-bed, a desk, small dining area and full bathroom, with sliding doors to access a private balcony. The upstairs loft area has a bedroom, ample closet space and a full bathroom.
The loft suites measure 550 square feet, as do the owner's suites.
Three other accommodations categories include deluxe suites at 450 square feet, veranda suites ranging from 240 to 330 square feet and interior suites of 180 to 220 square feet.
'As we are the first in offering loft suites in the North American market, we are proud to announce that our luxury suites will allow guests to stay in some of the largest accommodations on the rivers,' said Ted Sykes, president and chief operating officer, American Queen Steamboat Co. 'Relaxing and gathering with friends, family and fellow cruisers in these luxury suites will enhance the cruising experience on the American Duchess as she travels the Mississippi.'
The newly acquired vessel is being fully restyled and upgraded to begin sailing through America's heartland in July 2017. Voyages will operate along the Mississippi River and its tributaries.
