The new Mein Schiff 1 debuting next year
The new Mein Schiff 1, debuting in 2018 is more than 60% completed with float out at Meyer Turku scheduled for the end of September.

On May 11, 2018, Mein Schiff 1 will be named in Hamburg as part of the port’s 829th anniversary celebrations.

The new ship is about 20mtr longer than TUI Cruises’ fleet mates at 315mtr and the aft deck has been re-modelled with plenty of glass. Passenger capacity is 2,894 with double occupancy.

In addition to an expansion of the culinary offer with 12 restaurants and bistros, the ship sports 15 bars and lounges and boasts more space for exclusive suites, designed by Spanish architect, Patricia Urquiola.

An extended X-Lounge on deck 14 is available for suite and junior suite guests whilst Deck 15 features a new outdoor X-bar with loungers and a jacuzzi on deck 16. Another sun deck for suite guests, the X deck, is offered on deck 6 at the aft of the ship. This exclusive outdoor area is equipped with self-service stations for light refreshments and outdoor showers.

Hamburg culinary fare features onboard with fish, seafood and sushi available in the Fischrestaurant Fischmarkt (formerly Gosch) on deck 12. The new Hoheluft Bar is found on Deck 15 and the Ebbe & Flut Beer Bar on Deck 5, is created in partnership with the Brewery Ratsherrn from Hamburg.

A creative kitchen features on deck 5, where guests can take part in workshops and tastings while the two main restaurants Atlantic Classic and Atlantic Mediterranean, have a new design and the atrium has been remastered.

The new Ganzschön Gesund Bistro on Deck 5 focuses on the trend towards healthy eating.

For the first time in the Mein Schiff fleet, the fitness area is at the top of deck 15. The 438mtr long jogging track has a gradient of up to 6.7% and glistens in the dark thanks to fluorescent lighting.

The all-weather Arena is redesigned and now completely covered and includes a climbing wall and a large extendable movie/TV screen. Both the jogging track and the Arena are designed and fitted by German design agency 3deluxe.
