Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. vice chairman Adam Goldstein succeeded Carnival Corp. & plc president and CEO Arnold Donald as chairman of Cruise Lines International Association.

Donald had chaired CLIA since January 2017.

Second stint as chairman

'I’m honored to take on this role for the second time and look forward to building on the great work that Arnold has accomplished during his time as chair,' Goldstein said. 'As the cruise industry continues to grow globally, it’s exceptionally important that we work together to ensure a positive experience for our guests and for the destinations we visit. I’m excited to collaborate with all of our constituencies to pursue this vision.'

Immediate past FCCA chairman

Goldstein served as CLIA chairman in 2015 and 2016 and remained on the CLIA Global Executive Committee for the past two years. In addition to his more than 30-year tenure with RCL, he most recently chaired the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association.

Newly appointed CLIA president and CEO Kelly Craighead said she looks forward to working with Goldstein, adding that CLIA thanked Donald for his leadership the past two years. Donald will continue to serve on the Global Executive Committee.
