Princess Cruises sent out footage from a drone of Sea Princess arriving in Adelaide’s Outer Harbor on Monday to tout the company’s largest commitment to South Australia in the 2020/21 local summer season.

A video clip of svp Asia Pacific Stuart Allison at the welcome ceremony on board the ship also accompanied the news release.

Allison said the first cruise from Adelaide in the last summer season sold out within two months.

A$20m for state’s economy

He said Princess will operate an unprecedented 20 cruises to and from Adelaide in the 2020/21 season, injecting an estimated A$20m into the state economy in crew and passenger spending, ship supplies and port charges.

There will be six round cruises from Adelaide on the 2,000-passenger Sea Princess and the 2,670-passenger Sapphire Princess, as well as a further 14 one-way itineraries on Sea Princess, Sapphire Princess and the 3,560-passenger Majestic Princess.

‘This programme represents the largest ever financial commitment to South Australia by a cruise line and will make Adelaide the fastest growing homeport for Princess Cruises in Australia, putting it firmly on the national cruise map,’ Allison said.

d’Arenberg wines across the fleet

He also announced that South Australia’s d’Arenberg wines will feature across the company’s wine menus.

‘The opportunity to showcase our wine to a local and global audience is incredibly exciting for our business and allows us to promote the best of South Australia,’ d’Arenberg’s chief winemaker, Chester Osborne, said.

2020/21 Australasia programme

On March 26 Princess will release its full 2020/21 Australia and New Zealand itineraries aboard Majestic Princess in Sydney Harbour.

It will be Majestic Princess' last call in Sydney for the 2018/19 season before she departs for Asia. She will return on September 17 this year.
