Barcelona-based ADELTE has been contracted by three US cruise ports to deliver a total of six passenger boarding bridges.

Boston

ADELTE was selected in a competitive tender process by the Massachusetts Port Authority to deliver a passenger boarding bridge to the Raymond L. Flynn Black Falcon Cruise Terminal in 2020.

The HYDRA-type Seaport Passenger Boarding Bridge will be capable of operating with current and next generation cruise vessels, including those with overhanging lifeboats, and it will replace the current system installed in 2001.

The boarding bridge will be designed and manufactured in Spain and will be transported completely assembled from the Port of Barcelona to Boston.

PortMiami

PortMiami ordered two symmetrical SEDNA-type Seaport Passenger Boarding Bridges for Norwegian Cruise Line's new Cruise Terminal B and one SEDNA-type SPBB for Cruise Terminal C. The two boarding bridges for Cruise Terminal B will be delivered in time for the inauguration of Terminal B in early 2020, while the boarding bridge for Cruise Terminal C will be delivered later next year.

All three boarding bridges will be capable of operating with current and future cruise ships, including those with overhanging lifeboats, and the design and manufacture will take place in ADELTE’s facilities in Spain. All three will be transported completely assembled from Barcelona to Miami.

When the systems are installed, PortMiami will have a total of eight ADELTE boarding bridges in operation at the cruise terminals B, C, D and F.

Port Canaveral

ADELTE also won a contract with Canaveral Port Authority to deliver two symmetrical boarding bridges for the new Cruise Terminal 3 in 2018. Groundbreaking for the future year-round home of Carnival Cruise Line's Mardi Gras just took place, and the HYDRA-type SPBBs will be capable of serving all current and future Carnival cruise ships at this terminal.

The boarding bridges' design and manufacture will take place in Spain and the structures will be transported to Port Canaveral for assembly. When the systems are installed, Port Canaveral will have a total of eight ADELTE boarding bridges in operation at cruise terminals 3, 5, 6 and 10.
