Carnival Horizon will begin sailing in April 2018 from Barcelona before repositioning to New York for the summer and then launching year-round cruises from Miami in late September.

Carnival Horizon is the sister of 2016's Carnival Vista. It will offer many of the same features, including a SkyRide attraction, IMAX Theatre, WaterWorks park, Family Harbor and tropical-inspired Havana staterooms, plus some new dining, bar and outdoor spaces, to be announced. The ship is under construction at Fincantieri's Maghera yard.

Carnival Horizon's maiden voyage, on April 2, 2018, is a 13-day Mediterranean cruise round-trip from Barcelona with calls at Livorno, Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples, Dubrovnik, Corfu, Messina, Valletta and Cagliari. This is the first of four round-trips from Barcelona. A pair of week-long cruises will sail April 15 and April 22 to Cagliari, Naples, Civitavecchia, Livorno and Marseilles, and a 10-day cruise on April 29 will visit Livorno, Civitavecchia, Dubrovnik, Corfu and Messina.

The trans-Atlantic crossing from Barcelona on May 9 is scheduled to reach New York on May 23. The 14-day cruise will call at Málaga, Gibraltar, Lisbon, Vigo (a first-time portl for Carnival) and Halifax.

From New York, Carnival Horizon will spend the summer on eight-day round-trips to Grand Turk, San Juan and Amber Cove. Departure dates include May 28, June 5, June 13, June 25, July 3, July 11, July 23, July 31, Aug. 8, Aug. 20, Aug. 28 and Sept. 5. Additional departures from New York in summer 2018 are planned and will be announced in the coming weeks.

Carnival Horizon will then shift to PortMiami for its year-round Caribbean cruises beginning Sept. 22. Prior to these, the ship will sail a special two-day getaway to Nassau on Sept. 20.

Then six-day cruises will depart Sundays, calling at Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Two different eight-day itineraries will be offered with departures on Saturdays. One visits Grand Turk, La Romana, Curaçao and Aruba. The other calls at Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Kitts and St. Maarten.
