AIDA Cruises launched an 'AIDA Selection' brochure featuring more unusual itineraries, smaller ports, longer port stays and extended excursions focused on authentic nature and cultural experiences.

Elements of the concept were inspired by sister brand Costa Cruises' 'neoCollection' product.

Initially, 11 'AIDA Selection' cruises will be offered on the line's three oldest, smallest ships: the 1996-built AIDAcara, 2002's AIDAvita and 2003's AIDAaura.

The first 'AIDA Selection' cruises are scheduled for February and March, including a 14-day itinerary, 'Winter Up North,' from Hamburg to Norway on Feb. 11.

AIDAcara will be the first ship to operate the program, sailing to Norway in late winter, the Baltic in May and July and on two 21-day itineraries to Iceland and Greenland in July and August 2017. AIDAvita will follow with two-week cruises to Norway and Iceland in June and July.

The on-board atmosphere is promised to be personal and relaxed, and entertainment and dining will relate to the destinations.

Besides the dedicated brochure, 'AIDA Selection' cruises will be included in the line's new catalog, due out in the autumn.
