Five 'sneak preview' cruises have been canceled but the maiden voyage is still on schedule
Meyer Werft and AIDA Cruises confirmed the delivery of AIDAnova is delayed. As a result five 'sneak preview' cruises between Nov. 15 and Dec. 2 have been canceled, however the new ship is still scheduled to depart for its maiden voyage from Hamburg to the Canary Islands on Dec. 2.

Sea trials postponed

In addition, sea trials have been postponed. AIDAnova had been expected to sail late last week from Eemshaven for the testing of its technical and nautical systems in the North Sea. The ship remains berthed in the Dutch port for the time being.

Meyer Werft managing director Tim Meyer expressed regret for the delay but stressed the importance of properly preparing and checking the ship.

AIDA has been contacting passengers and travel agents to offer them alternatives.

AIDAnova is the world's first LNG-propelled cruise ship.
