On Monday the future vessel's stern section, measuring 120 metres in length and 42 metres in width, was moved from Meyer Werft's covered building hall to the outfitting pier.
This gives room for the ship's second engine module to be moved inside the hall. The module, the same size as the first, arrived from Neptun Werft at Rostock where it was prefabricated. Together with other sections it will comprise the ship's LNG storage tanks.
Construction on this second module will continue until the end of February. During this period, the superstructure up to Deck 20 will be fitted onto the engine section.
AIDAnova is scheduled to be inaugurated Dec. 2, 2018. On that day, the ship will set course from Hamburg to a maiden winter season in the Canary Islands.
