AIDAprima fire at Mitsubishi yard will not delay Hamburg debut, says owner
A small fire that broke out Monday evening in the aft area of newbuild AIDAprima, under construction at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' Nagaskai shipyard, was extinguished quickly, AIDA Cruises said.

In a statement to Seatrade Cruise News, AIDA said the situation was under control, and the vessel's first cruise out of homeport Hamburg, scheduled for April 30, will go ahead as planned.

Crew and yard workers were evacuated straight away once the alert was raised and all necessary safety measures were implemented. No injuries were reported.

Estimates of possible damage were not immediately available, AIDA said.

Investigations are ongoing and the Japanese shipyard continues to work on the newbuilding.
