AmaWaterways' 2016 newbuilds have family rooms, more balconies

AmaWaterways' 2016 newbuilds have family rooms, more balconies
AmaWaterway's 2016 sister ships AmaViola and AmaStella are designed for the group and family travel sectors with connecting cabins and also offer a higher number of balcony rooms.

The 158-passenger sister ships are the third and fourth in their class.

They will be equipped with connecting cabins, including 12 that can accommodate up to three people each; six sets of adjoining rooms that can connect via an internal door, accommodating up to five people; and four suites with convertible sofa-beds that can sleep up to four people.

As earlier reported, the new ships were designed in part with feedback from the AmaWaterways' new partners at Adventures by Disney.

'We are confident that the final result will broaden the appeal of our product to new types of travelers,' said Kristin Karst, evp and co-owner of AmaWaterways.

To meet the demand for more cabins with twin or French balconies, as well as suites, AmaWaterways is introducing another design change. The fitness room and salon on these ships will be moved to the lower deck, allowing for the addition of balcony staterooms and suites with panoramic views.

Both vessels will have marble-appointed bathrooms, multi-jet showerheads, plush linens, salon and massage services, fitness rooms, sun decks and heated pools with swim-up bars. Staterooms will also be equipped with AmaWaterways’ entertainment on demand system, with free access to the Internet, the latest Hollywood movies, a music library and more.

Unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks will continue to be available with lunch and dinner, and complimentary bottled water will be provided daily in accommodations.

AmaViola and AmaStella will join AmaWaterways’ rapidly growing European fleet for Danube and Rhine sailings beginning spring 2016. AmaStella’s maiden voyage will sail April 6, followed by AmaViola’s inaugural cruise on April 20.
