Crystal Cruises’ Anita Hodson, a former seagoing navigation officer involved in itinerary planning and fuel management for the company’s ocean, river and air products, is proud to have been born a Kiwi.

Hodson, who was born in New Zealand, left about 20 years ago and last visited seven years ago, was back for Cruise New Zealand 2016 in Wellington.

She said she loves the people and their passion and said New Zealand and Australia are top destinations for Crystal's passengers.

‘You are at the end of the world and we are all coming here,’ she said.

She said Crystal is pioneering new ports in New Zealand and will call at remote Stewart Island, south of the South Island, for the first time next year.

She said Crystal Symphony will call at Stewart Island again on a 114-day sailing from Cape Town to Miami on January 7, 2018.

The ship will also make maiden calls at Nelson and Gisborne on that voyage.
