Another coastal newbuild for American Cruise Lines

Another coastal newbuild for American Cruise Lines
Fast-growing American Cruise Lines said it has begun constructing a new coastal vessel, scheduled to begin sailing in spring 2017.

The unnamed ship is under construction at Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Salisbury, Maryland, and due for completion in January 2017.

It will have capacity for 170 passengers, making it slightly larger than others in the American Cruise Lines fleet.

The accommodations will span a roomy 350 square feet, with balconies. A spa, elevators serving all decks and shipwide Wi-Fi will be among the features.

The dining will emphasize locally sourced ingredients for traditional American and regionally inspired dishes. Butler-delivered room service will be available.

Rolls-Royce stabilizers and the latest environmental technology are among the technical features.
