APT’s 2016-17 Vietnam and Cambodia brochure highlights makeover of AmaLotus

Australia’s privately-owned APT has released its Vietnam and Cambodia 2016-17 brochure which highlights a major refurbishment of its luxury Mekong rivership AmaLotus.

AmaLotus, which will be used exclusively by APT, will be ready to sail on August 1, 2016 with 54 top of the range balcony suites.
 
APT’s Asia Ambassador, chef, author and television personality Luke Nguyen, is planning the menus for the newly refurbished ship which will have three dining options.

All passengers will have the opportunity to sample the six course degustation ‘Indochine by Luke Nguyen’ private dinner for 16. They will also enjoy a ‘Signature Welcome Dinner’ designed by Nguyen.

A new French-inspired location on Sadec Deck, Le Viet Nam Cafe, will serve morning and afternoon tea.

A 14-day ‘Luke Nguyen’s Vietnam and Mekong River Cruise’ will commence with three nights in Saigon where Luke will host a walking tour, taking guests to sample street food and to see where his parents lived. Passengers will also attend a cooking class at Nguyen’s Grain Cooking School and passengers on AmaLotus’ August 1 and December 5, 2016 sailings will attend small group ‘Getting To Know You’ sessions with the celebrated chef.

There are 16 new itineraries in the brochure and options to travel to Sapa in northwest Vietnam, Ha Long Bay and Vietnam’s Central Coast, China and Myanmar.

Vietnam and Cambodia itineraries of 13 days or longer feature the new addition of three nights in Siem Reap, staying at the Hotel Sofitel Angkor. New Freedom of Choice touring in Phnom Penh offers a tuk tuk ride and visits to the Royal Palace, the National Museum and the killing fields.

APT is offering ‘SuperDeals’ for bookings made by March 31, 2016 that can be combined with its ‘Early Payment Discount’ offering passengers a saving of up to A$1,000 per couple if payment is made 10 months before departure. There is also a ‘Travel With Friends and Save’ deal offering passengers travelling with five friends a discount of up to A$500  per person.
