Sembcorp makeover
SuperStar Virgo, which was popular with local cruisers when she was relocated to Sydney from Singapore in 2003 following an outbreak of SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome), will undergo a $US30m transformation into Explorer Dream at the Sembcorp Marine Admiralty Yard in Singapore next month.
Joining Genting Dream and World Dream, the 1,870-passenger Explorer Dream will be the first in the Dream Cruises fleet to sail outside of Asian waters when she homeports in Australia and New Zealand.
She leaves Shanghai on October 6 on her repositioning voyage to Sydney via Hong Kong and Singapore.
Round cruises from Sydney and Auckland
After arriving on October 27 she will operate a series of seven-night round cruises before heading for Auckland on December 8. Here she will also operate seven-night round cruises around New Zealand before heading back to Sydney on February 2, 2020.
On March 1 Explorer Dream is due to set sail on the repositioning voyage to Asia.
