Following its last board meeting of the year, the Australian Cruise Association hosted a get-together for the Sydney industry.

It was held on the terrace of the Port Authority of New South Wales, which has stunning views of the harbour.

Guests included the chairman of the New Zealand Cruise Association, Debbie Summers, and Tansy Tompkins, Tourism New Zealand’s trade marketing manager, an ex officio member of the NZCA board.

In his welcome speech, Grant Gilfillan, ceo of the Port Authority and chairman of the ACA, commented on the energy and passion of the ACA board and its members.

Gilfillan said the ACA is working on the development of a national cruise strategy and he looks forward to working with other industry stakeholders, and in particular with CLIA Australasia, in maximising the future growth of the cruise industry.
