Australia’s Brett Dudley seeks new partner in HK and mainland China
In November 2008, Brett Dudley opened the first cruise-only travel agency in Hong Kong after launching online cruise-only agency ecruising in Australia eight years earlier.

A year later Dudley sold 49% of the Hong Kong company to two local businesspeople who ran the day-to-day operation. They held a licence agreement for Hong Kong and China with ecruising, trading under the name ecruising.travel/hk.

‘After a successful partnership we have decided to go our own ways,’ Dudley said. ‘This means I now have full control again of our Hong Kong name and licence. I’ll be looking for new partner opportunities both in Hong Kong and the greater region.

‘We’ve proven our technology and business model works in Asia so I’m excited about the future, especially given what’s going on in the region now and what’s planned for the future.’

Dudley said that since Alastair Fernie was appointed executive gm and is now running the day-to-day operation in Australia, he has more time to work on other opportunities.
