A musical welcome to Franquelin's Lumberjack Village sets the tone for a fun visit
Disney Magic will stop at Québec's Baie-Comeau on Sept. 25 and 30, among the tally of 19 cruise calls on this St. Lawrence port's calendar, making 2018 its most important year yet.

Wide range of tours

Disney Cruise Line is offering excursions to Franquelin’s Lumberjack Village, Garden of the Glaciers, Seashell Valley, Manic-2 dam, Pointe-aux-Outardes’ Nature Park and Manoir of Baie-Comeau, as well as St. Pancrace lookout and the churches of St. Amélie and St. Andrew.

'This achievement by our partner, Baie-Comeau Cruises, with a world-renowned company such as Disney, can only contribute to our international influence and visibility. I am delighted and convinced that they will be charmed by the high-quality attractions they will discover during their stopover in Baie-Comeau,' Mayor Yves Montigny said.

Festivities open to the public

Activities will be offered throughout the day during both Disney Magic calls, at the federal wharf, at the cruise pavilion and the waterfront park. With the exception of the wharf, due to security reasons, these will be open to the public as well.

Baie-Comeau Cruises is inviting the town to celebrate these exceptional days. The local musical group Les coureux d'bois will be part of the festivities near the cruise pavilion. Balloons and flags will be distributed.

'Our goal is to make sure the Disney Cruise Line continues to stop over in Baie-Comeau for many years to come,' said Viviane Richard, president of Baie-Comeau Cruises. 'We want this event to be successful in order to increase our notoriety as an international cruise stopover. Managing these stopovers is part of our growth strategy.

A demanding customer

'Since Disney Cruise Line is one of the most prestigious family cruise lines, needs and expectations are greater than for other lines we've worked with so far,' Richard added. 'Baie-Comeau Cruises' team has been working for several months to organize these major stopovers, and it is ready to take up the challenge.'

Baie-Comeau Cruises is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to showcase tourist attractions and businesses in the Manicouagan region in order to promote Baie-Comeau as a cruise ship port of call in international markets.
