Barcelona bags Oasis 3 in summer 2016, Independence returns to UK

After its delivery in April 2016, the world’s largest cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas, will homeport at Barcelona and sail a round-trip, seven-night western Mediterranean itinerary. Vacationers also can embark Harmony of the Seas at Civitavecchia (Rome) for a seven-night round-trip.

The third Oasis-class ship will be based in Barcelona/Civitavecchia before it takes up its earlier announced 2016/17 winter program from Florida's Port Everglades. 

During 2016 Royal Caribbean will field eight ships in Europe. Four of them are new to the region.

Brilliance of the Seas will also sail from Barcelona, alternating 12-night 'Italian Mediterranean' and 'Greek & Italian Mediterranean' cruises.

Independence of the Seas returns to Southampton to operate mostly 10- to 14-night Mediterranean or Canary Islands cruises, while Navigator of the Seas will offer British vacationers a wide range of new six- to 14-night Norwegian Fjords, Baltic, Mediterranean and Canary Islands itineraries.

Serenade of the Seas will sail seven-night Norwegian Fjords and seven- to 13-night Scandinavia and Russia itineraries round-trip from Copenhagen in early summer and August, and from Stockholm in June and July.

Doubling Royal Caribbean's capacity from Venice, Jewel of the Seas will alternate brand new 10-night Greece and Adriatic and 11-night Greece, Turkey and Croatia cruises from Venice, while Vision of the Seas will alternate seven-night Greek Isles and Greek Isles and Turkey cruises.

From Civitavecchia, Rhapsody of the Seas will operate nine-night Greek Isles cruises in the early summer and autumn months. From late June through August, the ship will alternate seven-night Greek Isles and Greece and Turkey cruises.
