With 30 years of experience in cruising—starting as a shipboard magician and cruise director and now the CEO of PPI Group and editor-in-chief of Porthole Cruise Magazine—Bill Panoff's latest venture is a cruise blog.

On his new 'Cruise Control,' Panoff tells what's hot, the best destinations, how to find the best deal, where to go, when, and more.

'Cruising is the most affordable vacation out there,' he enthused, since it includes travel, meals and entertainment. 'There's no better vacation on the planet Earth.'

Panoff's vlogs will share his expertise with novices and seasoned cruisers. The first 'Cruise Control' episodes offer tips for preparing for embarkation day, and future episodes promise insider tips, expert suggestions and destination reports.

For example, in the pilot vlog, Panoff gives five pre-cruise tips: Arrive at the embarkation port a day or two before sailing to experience another city, research ports and destinations (and pre-book shore excursions online), research the ship's specialty restaurants and pre-reserve, look into drinks packages as a way to budget for spending up front and purchase travel insurance.

'The cruise enthusiast will definitely get the most out of Cruise Control,' Panoff said, 'but cruise lines, tour operators, travel agents and tourism professionals will find Cruise Control to be an effective business development tool as well, showcasing the wide variety of ship, port and activity options that will appeal to potential cruise guests of all ages and interests.'
