Brazilian officials blow up Olympian mom's suitcase at the cruise terminal
A bag belonging to the mother of Olympian volleyball player Carli Lloyd of the US was detonated by security officials at Rio de Janeiro's Pier Mauá cruise terminal.

According to The New York Times, Cindy Lloyd—rushing to see her daughter's first match last week—left her luggage at the cruise terminal where she was booked to stay aboard Norwegian Getaway, chartered by RIO 2016 for dockside housing.

When Lloyd returned to Pier Mauá to check in and embark the ship, Lloyd was questioned by Brazilian security officials who said her suitcase had been singled out by bomb-sniffing dogs and destroyed.
