Rinascita Pier Terminal is expanding as Cagliari Cruise Port eyes more turnarounds
Cagliari Cruise Port is hoping that the recent successful turnaround of over 40 passengers disembarking, and another 40 joining, Noble Caledonia's Panorama II in Sardinia is a starting point for more homeport operations.

On May 18, Panorama II berthed at Cagliari Cruise Port's Rinascita Pier Terminal.

Those disembarking passengers took various shiore excursions in the city before heading to Elmas Airport for their flights to London.

On the same day, 40 new guests of Panorama II arrived to Cagliari to start a new cruise in the Mediterranean.

It is the first concrete operational test for Cagliari, numerically small but particularly significant, in relation to a MoU recently signed between the Port Authority of the Sardinia Sea, the Municipality of Cagliari, Sogaer (Cagliari-Elmas Airport Co) and Cagliari Cruise Port, to collectively promote and develop homeport operations.

A dedicated meeting point was prepared at the airport to provide the incoming cruise passengers a warm welcome to the City of Cagliari, as well as to improve the ease and efficiency of the operations.

Cagliari Cruise Port aims to promote homeporting opportunities to the cruise lines supported by the expansion of its cruise terminal, which is planned to be completed before the start of the 2019 cruise season.
