Carnival Cruise Line hires marketing chief from Sands Corp.
Following an extensive search Carnival Cruise Line tapped Kathy Mayor, a veteran of Las Vegas Sands Corp., as chief marketing officer. She fills the role vacated by Jim Berra, who decamped to Royal Caribbean International in July last year.

Mayor brings wide-ranging experience in e-commerce, digital and loyalty marketing, customer relationship management, business development and product and brand management.

At Carnival she's responsible for driving the marketing strategy across a variety of platforms including digital marketing, e-commerce, advertising, guest loyalty and public relations. She reports directly to Carnival president Christine Duffy, who said Mayor's multi-dimensional marketing background focused on consumer brands and experiences make her ideal for the role.

At Las Vegas Sands Corp. Mayor's most recent role was global svp strategy, CRM and e-commerce. She was responsible for corporate efforts in marketing technology, data science and market research, and then led Sands China’s digital marketing, social marketing and e-commerce product management.

Other roles were global vp of CRM and loyalty marketing, and executive director of strategic initiatives.

Before joining Las Vegas Sands Corp. in 2008, Mayor held leadership positions at Caesars Entertainment, McKinsey & Co. and Procter & Gamble.
