Carnival gangway accident in Baltimore is under investigation

Carnival gangway accident in Baltimore is under investigation
What caused Carnival Pride to run into an elevated gangway at the Port of Baltimore Sunday morning remains under investigation.

While docking the ship stuck the gangway, causing part of it to fall and damage three parked vehicles. The gangway was not in use at the time and the vehicles were empty. No injuries were reported on board or shoreside.

Carnival Cruise Line said minor damage was limited to a small mooring deck platform on the starboard side of the ship.

One of the crew gangways at pier level was used for disembarkation for the cruise that ended Sunday and to embark passengers for the new sailing.

Authorities were notified of the accident.

Carnival Pride sailed Sunday evening.
