Miliaras is heading the fleet and maintenance development teams for ships operated by AIDA Cruises, Costa Cruises and Costa Asia - a total of 26 vessels. He takes over from Björn Sprotte, who has led the department for the past 18 months.
Greek-born Miliaras who studied as a naval architect and has an MBA in marine engineering will be responsible for technical management, improvement of repair efficiency, standardization and harmonizing processes as well as connecting offices and ships across the globe.
Before joining Carnival Maritime, he worked for Royal Caribbean & Celebrity Cruises for sixteen years.
Since 2013, he held the position of avp marine ops looking after 13 vessels.
Prior to that he was director technical systems at Celebrity Cruises.
Miliaris started his career in the cruise industry in 1999 at Lloyd's Register. In 2006, he began working as site office manager for Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises where he supervised the construction of the Celebrity Solstice class vessels.

Carnival Maritime's fleet operations center (FOC) monitors and supports 37 ships owned by the Costa Group, P&O Cruises and Cunard.
