Carnival Cruise Line said its 133,500gt Carnival Vista successfully completed final sea trials in the Adriatic Sea earlier this week in anticipation of its inaugural cruise from Trieste, Italy, May 1.

Currently in the final stages of construction at Fincantieri's Monfalcone shipyard, the vessel had a full contingent of officers, technicians and engineers on board who thoroughly tested Carnival Vista’s navigation, technical and mechanical systems.

Following its inaugural sailing, Carnival Vista will operate eight- to 13-day Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona and Piraeus.  The ship will then reposition to New York in November for a pair of 11-day voyages before launch year-round Caribbean service from PortMiami later that month.
