Celebrity Constellation leaves Amsterdam in style

Celebrity Constellation leaves Amsterdam in style
Saturday September 6, saw Passenger Terminal Amsterdam bid a formal farewell to Celebrity Constellation making a final call to the Dutch port after 63 visits over eight years.

Onboard, guests attended a ‘reverse’ Plaque and Key ceremony in which the US vice consul general, Charles Hendrix, and chairman of Amsterdam Cruise Port, Hans Gerson, thanked the captain and crew for the wonderful cooperation - and for bringing 290,000 passengers and crew safely to Amsterdam since 2006.

Around 16:30, the port choir, a water salute, hundreds of blue and white balloons, officials and terminal crew waved as the ship departed.  From next year, Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Silhouette will homeport in Amsterdam offering cruises to Scandinavia and Russia.

Also visiting on Saturday were Crystal Symphony at PTA, Costa Pacifica at the AMT quay, and in Ijmuiden, Silver Whisper.
