'Dan brings a wealth of operational knowledge and experience in the cruise industry, and we look forward to adding his voice and expertise to our distinguished board,' Lindblad Expeditions chairman Mark Ein said.

Prior to that, as svp he headed sales and marketing at Royal Caribbean International where he was responsible for fostering the 'Get Out There' campaign that redefined that brand.

Earlier Hanrahan held executive-level positions with Polaroid Corp. and Reebok International.
