From an exclusive tour of Italy’s Amalfi Coast to a private limoncello tasting in Malta, Celebrity Cruises’ new Celebrity Discovery Collection offers curated shore excursions limited to small groups. The first tours in the growing collection will be offered in the western Mediterranean, with more being added globally throughout 2018.

Building on the brand’s shore excursion portfolio, the Celebrity Discovery Collection was designed with both the seasoned wanderer and novice cruiser in mind. The tours range from eclectic adventures for explorers to tours that take travelers to the must-see locales of every port. With a maximum of 24 people in each tour, participants will get more time at each location, individual interaction with their guide and a more up close and personal experience.

Celebrity president and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo said her last visit to the 'gorgeous western Mediterranean' and its hidden gems acted as the inspiration behind the new tours.

Susan Bonner, VP revenue management and on-board revenue, added Celebrity wanted to give travelers more of a taste—in some cases, literally—of what the region has to offer, with destination- and culinary-focused experiences.

Among the many new tours is a 'French Day Experience in Nice and St. Paul de Vence,' where travelers can venture into the 17th-century underground vault and storied wine shop in Old Nice before journeying to Michelin-starred restaurant La Colle-sur-Loup for lunch and ending in the enchanting St. Paul de Vence. Prices start at $299.

Foodies can embark on an exclusive 'Italian Pasta Experience' ($109) where they’ll arrive at the famed Martelli pasta factory by carriage for a tour of the facilities, followed by an entertaining pasta-making demonstration at Torre a Cenaia in Tuscany.

Musically inclined travelers will be transported back in time with a concert of medieval music via 'Barcelona’s Secret Basilica - Concert at the Bell Tower' ($199) or can experience 'Valldemossa and Exclusive Lunch in Deia' ($249), exploring the countryside before a private piano concert and visiting the La Cartuja ancient monastery.
