Children under the age of 12 make up nearly 10% of SkySea Cruise Line passengers, and a summer family cruise has become a growing trend in the Chinese market.

So the line partnered with children’s technology brand NeoBear to create high-tech children’s areas aboard SkySea Golden Era and is incorporating the brand into dozens of cartoon-character-themed staterooms.

NeoBear’s Dream Town is now part of one of the youth facilities located Deck 4. Kids can search for hidden treasures via an augmented reality (AR) experience while making new friends.

At the same time, interactive AR games have been integrated into the Animal Forest in the Deck 12 youth facility where, under the guidance of their parents, children can take pictures with virtual animals and immerse themselves in the story of Dr. Gu Dong.

Cartoon-loving kids will also have the chance to explore the new NeoBear Children’s Room, where they can play with a range of cartoon characters including NeoBear himself.

In addition, SkySea Golden Era has allocated dozens of staterooms, most designed for two child families, as NeoBear-themed rooms. They come with NeoBear bedding, wall decorations and more.

Plus, SkySea Golden Era will broadcast 52 episodes of 'NeoBear’s Dream World' on the ship’s cartoon channel.

'SkySea has always achieved wonderful reviews on our food and beverage offering, high-level of service and themed activities. This new partnership with NeoBear allows us to provide even better products and facilities to fulfill needs of different age groups sailing with SkySea Cruise Line,' ceo Ken Muskat said.

During International Children’s Day on May 30 and the summer holiday, the line will debut its children’s playground and children’s staterooms.

In 2016, children under 12 accounted for nearly 10% of SkySea passengers. In July and August, the numbers of children carried increased more than 60% over other months.

More than half of parents traveling with children selected higher-end staterooms such as balcony rooms and suites, while parent-child shore excursion participation increased by more than 40% over the first half of the year.
