CLIA Australasia introduces Cruise Ambassador status

CLIA Australasia introduces Cruise Ambassador status
A Cruise Ambassador level will become the second tier in CLIA Australasia’s training programme, positioned between Accredited Cruise Consultant and Master Cruise Consultant.

The new ranking will be available to agents who have attained Accreditation, have accumulated 200 accreditation points, undertaken an additional two elective modules and have sailed an additional three nights onboard a ship belonging to a CLIA cruise line member.

‘As cruising grows in both Australia and New Zealand, our training programmes have swelled and there are now 1,725 active accredited agents across both countries,’ CLIA Australasia gm Brett Jardine said.

‘This new tier will create extra recognition for agents who continue to undertake training and will make it even easier for customers to know they are dealing with a true cruise specialist,’ Jardine said.

He said the introduction of CLIA Cruise Ambassadors comes just two  weeks after it moved mandatory components of its training programme online.

‘With demand for cruising at record levels in our region, we want to make sure agents are equipped to assist customers to find the right cruise holiday and build their cruise business.’
