The Travel Agent Destination Summit is set for Sept. 29 to Oct. 2.
The event features two certificate programs. Agents can earn a Meetings & Events at Sea Certificate and be among the first to earn CLIA’s new Specialty Cruise Certificate, focused on river, luxury, yachts and expedition cruising.
Other highlights include the opportunity to explore Puerto Rico on tours and to attend a luncheon hosted by the governor's office.
There will be networking with travel agents and others in the cruise industry, including a joint reception with FCCA and round table discussions.
A ship inspection of Carnival Fascination is available, too.
'This event offers our members a brand-new platform to network and connect with destination experts,' said Cindy D'Aoust, president and ceo, CLIA. She added that with the opportunity to earn two new certificates and access to the FCCA trade show floor, the event can help agent members advance to the next step in their career.
FCCA president Michele Paige welcomed the new CLIA initiative.
'Travel agents have long been a driving force of the cruise industry, and we could not be more pleased to offer them opportunities to boost business with the event’s 100 cruise executives and 1,000 tourism stakeholders,' Paige said.
All attendees receive access to the FCCA trade show on Sept. 29.
The event is priced at $149 for CLIA members and $249 for non-members.
