CLIA UK & Ireland salutes an eventful year
The UK and Ireland cruise community gathered for the CLIA annual dinner last night onboard Magellan in London's port of Tilbury.

Chris Coates, commercial director of host for the event Cruise & Maritime Voyages, welcomed guests in the ship's theatre. He told visitors that Magellan, which debuted earlier this year, has carried 30,000 British passengers this year.

Earlier in the day, travel agents participated in training seminars and CLIA executive partners had the opportunity to network with cruise line execs. Almost 500 participanst from the sector came together in two separate events which culmitaed in the dinner.

CLIA UK and Ireland chair, Lynn Narraway spoke of an eventful year which saw several new ship debuts in the UK with the introduction of Magellan and Norwegian Escape, the naming of Britannia and Anthem of the Seas and the 175th annversary of Cunard culminating in a three ship gathering in Liverpool, among some of the key highlights.
