CLIA's Hall joins National Maritime Security Advisory Committee
US Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson appointed Cruise Lines International Association's Kim Hall, director of technical and regulatory affairs - operational and security, to the National Maritime Security Advisory Committee.

'Kim’s vast experience in maritime security has served CLIA’s members well, and we are confident that she will provide the same knowledge and expertise to this committee,' said Bud Darr, svp technical and regulatory affairs, CLIA. He added that CLIA looks forward to the guidance Hall and the rest of the committee will provide to the US Coast Guard and Department of Homeland Security.

NMSAC members represent all segments of the maritime industry and advise the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security via the USCG commandant.

The committee considers matters such as national security strategy and policy, actions required to meet current and future security threats, international cooperation on security issues and security concerns of the maritime transportation industry. The committee also works with representatives of USCG, Customs and Border Protection, FEMA and the Transportation Security Administration, among other federal agencies.

Hall joined CLIA in 2014 after working with industry and government representatives at the Homeland Security Studies and Analysis Institute and the Center of Naval Analyses.
