CMV’s Columbus makes a maiden visit to Shanghai

Columbus on a three-day stay in Shanghai during the 2018 world cruise
Cruise and Maritime Voyages’ Columbus made her maiden call in Shanghai as part of her 120-night 2018 round-the-world voyage. The vessel arrived on March 15 and departed on Saturday after a three day stay which saw over 1,700 passengers participae in shore excursions.

Highlights of the tours available included the Shanghai, Terracotta Warriors & Beijing overland excursion with passengers riding on the Maglev train to visit the Terracotta Warriors, the Great Wall of China and in Beijing, Tian’anmen Square and the Forbidden City built for the Ming and Qing Dynasties before flying to re-join Columbus in Hong Kong.

Other Shanghai excursions included the famous Jinmao Hyatt Building, shaped like a giant handbag and the second tallest skyscraper in China, for panoramic views of the city plus tours to the Jade Buddha Temple, Yu Garden, the Old Town, the French Quarter, the Bund and Shanghai museum.

Columbus will be calling in Shanghai again in 2019 on her next 120-night world cruise departing London Tilbury on January 5, 2019.
