CMV to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday with deck parties
Cruise & Maritime Voyages will be celebrating the Queen’s 90th Birthday on April 21 with a Great British Deck Party planned on each of its vessels.

Celebrations and entertainment on board will include decorating the ships with bunting and flags and playing of the National Anthem while passengers will have the chance to improve their Royal knowledge with daily facts in the ship’s programme and DVD screenings of documentaries exploring the Queen's reign.

Bob McGowan, head of customer services at CMV said, ‘CMV has plans in place on board our ships for special menus and high teas, grand ‘Last night of the Proms’ style deck parties, red, white and blue decorations and the crew will be dressed especially for the occasion.'

The CMV fleet will be in different parts of the globe on Thursday: Magellan is in the Norwegian fjords, Marco Polo in Dublin, Astoria in port in Bristol, whilst Astor is at sea on the way back from Australia.

McGowan, said ‘The Queen’s Birthday Cocktail is set to be one of the most popular drinks on board. We also expect our guests to imbibe like a royal on the Dubonnet cocktail (which is one part gin and two parts of Dubonnet red stirred in ice, then strained into a cocktail glass and topped off with lemon or orange peel).'
