Columbia Cruise Services is confirmed as the technical manager of Thomson Discovery, due to join the Thomson Cruises’ fleet in spring 2016.

Captain Adrian Hibbert, Director of Operations of Thomson Cruises,

Currently sailing as Splendour of the Seas” for Royal Caribbean International, Thomson Cruises takes over the ship next April.

Collaboration between Columbia and Thomson Cruises dates back to 2004 when the ship manager was appointed as technical manager for Thomson Celebration. Island Escape and
Thomson Dream followed in 2009 and 2010.

‘We are very happy to add yet another vessel to our Thomson fleet,’ stated Olaf Groeger, director of CCS. ‘To be trusted with Thomson’s newest and most modern addition is a great honour and underlines the trust we have gained by successfully managing Thomson vessels over the years.’

Columbia enhanced its tailor-made service structures within the cruise industry by founding CCS in 2014. Looking back on more than 30 years of experience in the cruise business it was the right time to set up a specialized cruise service, added Groeger.

CCS started operating out of Hamburg, Germany, in January 2015 dedicated exclusively to passenger, expedition cruise vessels and luxury yachts offering a broad scope of customised cruise and hotel services.
