Mexico's Puerto Costa Maya has been busy welcoming new ships, from Anthem of the Seas to Emerald Princess and Regal Princess. Plaque exchanges have commemorated the inaugural calls.

Plus, Costa Maya will receive its first visit from Costa Cruises.

All this makes for a particularly good high season, according to César Lizarraga, vp port operations at Costa Maya.

Passengers from all ships are getting to experience a major new water park attraction, the Lost Mayan Kingdom, which opened in early November, as well as a restyled Costa Maya cruise facility.

It now sports an expedition look and signage, playing off the Lost Mayan Kingdom theme, and new food and beverage offerings that highlight regional Mexican and Latin American dishes, and fresh, locally caught lobster and seafood.

Two beers are now brewed on site, and a café offers Mexican coffees, chocolates and pastries.
