Adam Tihany - 'A rare honor to narrate a design story from the director’s chair'
Costa Cruises appointed New York-based hospitality designer Adam Tihany as creative director for its two LNG-powered newbuilds, due for delivery in 2019 and 2020.

Under Tihany’s leadership, Costa will assemble the designers to execute the vision for its next generation of ships inspired by 'Italy’s Finest.'

'It is a rare honor to narrate a design story from the director’s chair,' Tihany said. 'The fact that this opportunity creates a partnership with Costa Cruises is all the more extraordinary.'

'I am confident that Mr. Tihany will create a unique style for our new ships that will help us to offer our guests unforgettable and happy holidays,' Costa president Neil Palomba said. He called Tihany 'the world's preeminent hospitality designer.'

Tihany is already creating the interiors of Seabourn Encore, his first solo cruise ship effort, and a portion of those for Holland America Line's Koningsdam. His first cruise work was for Celebrity Solstice.

Costa's 180,000gt newbuilds will be constructed at Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland. Each has capacity for 6,600 passengers.
