The 2006-built Crown Princess now has four refreshed top-deck outdoor food and beverage spots, Princess Luxury Beds in all accommodations, new Club Class Mini-Suites and the Camp Discovery Youth & Teen Center.

The new offerings were installed during a 10-day dry dock at Grand Bahama Shipyard in advance of the ship's Mediterranean season. The work is part of Princess Cruises' $450m 'Come Back New Promise.'

Now poolside: 'The Ernesto' burger

New on the top deck the Salty Dog Grill (formerly Trident Grill) offers a variety of signature Princess burgers, new Street Tacos made with grilled chipotle-lime chicken or roasted sweet potato-green chile and, for a charge, 'The Ernesto' burger, from chef Ernesto Uchimura. Accompaniments include loaded fries in varieties like chili cheese and bacon and cheese. Classic hot dogs round out the menu.

Slice (formerly Prego Pizzeria) serves the line's Neapolitan-style pizza plus new menu items such as Deep Dish Focaccia layered with marinara, meatballs and cheese; California Artisanal Toast including Cali-Avocado or Caprese; and Sliced Stromboli, an East Coast take on an Italian calzone filled with deli meats and cheese.

Coffee & Cones (previously Sundaes Ice Cream Bar) offers gourmet ice-cream sandwiches, complimentary ice cream cones and, now, New Grounds Crafted Coffee.

Poolside bar The Mix (replacing Mermaid’s Tale) has been refreshed and brightened.

Princess Luxury Bed

Every Crown Princess stateroom now has the Princess Luxury Bed, developed in collaboration with board-certified sleep expert Dr. Michael Breus and HGTV designer Candice Olson.

The ship became the latest in the fleet to add a new premium category, Club Class Mini-Suite, featuring VIP amenities, a reserved area in the dining room with expedited seating and expanded menu options, and priority embarkation and disembarkation.

The Camp Discovery Youth & Teen Center, for cruisers ages 3-17, was created in partnership with Discovery. Programs for specific age groups are being delivered on board while the venue is to be completed by early summer.

Effy Fine Jewelry boutique

Other dry dock changes included aesthetic enhancements to the Shops of Princess, a new branded Effy Fine Jewelry boutique and new products such as Princess-branded athletic wear and logo apparel displayed in a newly designed Logo shop.

The Casino was refreshed with new carpet, light fixtures and bar television screens, while Lotus Spa & Fitness Center's salon and treatment rooms were upgraded and the latest fitness equipment was added.

Crown Princess also gained new livery with the line's sea witch logo on the bow.

Following its Mediterranean season, the ship will cruise in the Caribbean this winter.
