Some 200 industry representatives from ports, destinations and cruise lines, 20 international cruise lines and 10 media organizations are expected.
The symposium's 2017 edition will mark an important step in the development of the destination with the announcement of a new strategic plan by the Cruise Canada/New England Alliance. The Alliance is a partnership of NYCruise, Flynn Cruiseport Boston, CruiseMaine USA, Cruise Atlantic Canada and Cruise the Saint Lawrence.
Symposium activities will be set against a backdrop of celebrations for the 375th anniversary of the founding of Montréal and the 150th anniversary of Canada's confederation.
The program features conferences and workshops intended to actively involve participants. Destination development, passenger experience and itinerary planning figure among the leading topics. In addition, a marketplace will provide ports and destinations the opportunity to meet one-to-one with cruise line and media representatives. Evening and social activities are designed to ensure ample networking opportunities throughout the event.
Symposium sponsors are the Port of Montréal, Tourism Montréal, Flynn Cruiseport Boston, Port of Québec, Québec Tourism Bureau, Québec Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Destinations North America, Nova Scotia ports and destinations, Cruise Baie-Comeau, Port of Havre-Saint-Pierre, Ports America, Port Saint John, Promotion Saguenay, Port Charlottetown, Bermello Ajamil & Partners and Destination Sept-Îles Nakauinanu.
