Cruise industry mourns James Patrick

Cruise industry mourns James Patrick
The industry is saddened by the death of James Patrick, co-owner of Sydney-based upmarket cruise specialist Wiltrans International with his wife, Diane.

Diane was managing the company, which was established in 1971, when the Patricks bought it from Wallenius Wilhelmsen Lines in 2002.

James was a chartered accountant whose career took him to New Guinea in the late 1960s. He established Ku-ring-gai Travel in the Sydney suburb of Turramurra, one of the first AMEX representative travel agencies. He also worked in the hotel industry with Park Plaza.

Multi-award-winning Wiltrans International is general sales agent in Australia and New Zealand for Paul Gauguin Cruises and has represented Silversea, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Crystal Cruises.
