CruiseOne/Cruises Inc. agents get advanced Intranet platform
A new Intranet solution that makes the companies' IT programs fully compatible with all web browsers and trending devices was unveiled Sunday at the CruiseOne and Cruises Inc. national conference aboard Norwegian Escape.

In a 'Mission Impossible' themed session reflecting the challenge of this accomplishment, attendees learned about the Business Center, which the company said will change the way agents and headquarters interact with each other.

The platform addresses six missions outlined by vp Sandi Szalay during her presentation with vp Stacy Lowman: mobile-friendly, a powerful search, engagement with headquarters and each other, recognition opportunities, who’s who and where to go for help, and more than a standard Intranet.

In other national conference activities on Sunday, svp Debbie Fiorino stressed the importance of having strong connections that 'feed strong relationships.'

And World Travel Holdings svp David Crooks moderated a panel of senior cruise leaders including Adolfo Pérez, vp trade sales and marketing, Carnival Cruise Line; Keith Lane, vp field sales and national accounts, Celebrity Cruises; and Charlie Dunwoody, senior director, national accounts, Holland America Line and Seabourn. Further panelists were Ken Muskat, svp sales, public relations and guest services, MSC Cruises USA; Alex Pinelo, vp key accounts, Norwegian Cruise Line; Gordon Ho, svp marketing, Princess Cruises; and Vicki Freed, svp sales, trade support and services, Royal Caribbean International.

Fundraising for Make-A-Wish, the signature charity of CruiseOne, Cruises Inc. and World Travel Holdings, is a major component of the national conference. Keri Rivera, corporate alliances manager, Make-A-Wish America, shared the impact of a wish experience and highlighted the fundraising opportunities taking place throughout the week. She also surprised a WTH employee by announcing that the first $10,000 raised at this year's national conference will sponsor the wish of her grandson.

The CruiseOne and Cruises Inc. conference opened Saturday aboard Norwegian Escape with remarks by WTH's Brad Tolkin, Debbie Fiorino and Drew Daly, and an address by Norwegian's Pinelo. The afternoon's highlight was an address by the renowed marine conservationist and artist Guy Harvey, who painted Norwegian Escape's hull artwork.
