New, shorter routes between Budapest and Vienna feature in the spring 2018 schedule for Crystal River Cruises' second Rhine-class newbuild, Crystal Mahler.

The vessel—which enters service this fall—will offer three seven-day 'Danube Serenade' voyages between Budapest and Vienna, and one 11-day 'Reflections on the Danube' sailing. These voyages are a shorter complement to Crystal Mahler’s 16-day 'Grand Europe' itinerary between Amsterdam and Budapest that operates for most of the year on the Rhine, Main and Danube.

The newly added departures are April 10, 17, 24 and May 1, and visit destinations including Krems, Spitz, Linz and Melk, Austria, and Bratislava, Slovakia.

Three of the voyages provide themed programming. Special guest Nancy Brinker, former US ambassador to Hungary and founder of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, will discuss 'Art & Diplomacy' (April 10). Crystal's Edie Rodriguez hosts the annual President’s Cruise' (April 24), and there's an in-depth focus on Jewish heritage excursions (May 1).

Crystal Mahler will embark on its maiden voyage this September from Amsterdam, joining Crystal Bach on Europe's waterways. Crystal Debussy and Crystal Ravel are to arrive in 2018.
