Crystal River Cruises unveiled a new collection of destination experiences for voyages along the Danube, Rhine and Main. All focus on authenticity and are tailored to travelers’ individual interests, featuring smaller group sizes and special details.

Nearly 200 excursions are included, with additional pursuits available at a cost. Five types of experiences are offered.

'Personal Connections' provide one-of-a-kind tours hosted by local residents, artisans and experts. 'Tantalizing Gastronomy' offers a variety of dining and hands-on cooking opportunities.

'Cultural Discoveries' give insight from expert guides into historical landmarks, museums, iconic sites and architectural marvels. 'Exhilarating Adventures' cater to active travelers with invigorating pursuits that combine historical and cultural experiences.

And, for a more tailored program, 'Design Your Time' features a concierge service to design unique private tours as well as a menu of customized choices.

Many destinations offer more than a dozen choices. Some of the new included adventures are an immersive culinary experience in the foodie haven of Rotterdam, a string and opera performance in a historic Antwerp cathedral, a full day exploring Salzburg from Linz and a horse show and carriage ride at Lázár Equestrian Park.

Other new included adventures are an owner-hosted tasting at Schlagkamp Winery in Cochem, biking to Veitshochheim Castle and its Rococo Garden in Wurzburg and a behind-the-scenes tour of Amsterdam’s greenhouses, where the famous tulips are cultivated.

Dozens of optional (extra charge) experiences include a vintage photography adventure in Vukovar, hands-on instruction in Linzer torte baking, a private home cooking lesson in Kehl, wine tasting in the renowned cellars of Vienna’s Palais Coburg and canoeing through the romantic canals of Strasbourg.

Other optional experience are exploring Budapest by Trabant (the car), hands-on creativity in one of Novi Sad’s last remaining tapestry workshops and horseback riding through the forests of Novi Sad’s Fruška Gora National Park.

Excursion group sizes are limited to 15 people; for larger groups, guides are available to lead the tours in German, Spanish, Portuguese and other languages upon request.

Each river itinerary will also feature included Signature Events. These offer rare access and musical performances in iconic landmarks including Vienna’s Belvedere Palace, Linz’s St. Florian Monastery, Rüdesheim’s Monastery Eberbach and other venues.
