Carnival Vista's top deck - everything from an aerial ride to a water park to a serene adults-only space
The open decks buzz with activity on today's cruise ships, with aerial rides, interactive water parks, spectacular slides, ropes courses, surfing and even sky-diving and other novelties. At the same time, serene adults-only areas are the rage. And fitness centers and spas are bigger, better and increasingly sophisticated with features like snow rooms and salt chambers.

A new Cruise Shipping Miami session will examine the latest developments in active, family and wellness areas, how to make them appeal to all ages and how to increase utilization with better programming. The role of technology in these spaces, and trends such as covered or enclosed all-weather pools and multipurpose sports areas will be addressed, too.

Scheduled speakers are Timothy Dux, vp spa operations and fitness programs, The Onboard Spa by Steiner; Caroline Lombardi, director of youth, family and outer decks, Carnival Cruise Line; Andrew Mowatt, evp corporate accounts, WhiteWater West; and Jim Urry, vp entertainment & Port Adventures, Disney Cruise Line.

The March 19 morning panel will be moderated by Roger Blum, principal, Cruise & Port Advisors.

Cruise Shipping Miami is scheduled for March 16-19 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
