P&O Cruises says the first ceremony will be held on Azura in the Caribbean in January 2018, while Cunard has welcomed its first booking by a same-sex couple, too.
Wedding ceremonies will be performed by the ship’s captain (or deputy captain) and the marriage license will be issued by Bermuda.
Both brands’ Weddings at Sea packages include a ceremony, traditional wedding music, services of an on-board wedding co-ordinator, attendance of a professional photographer at the ceremony, cost of the license fees, champagne for a toast after the ceremony, invitations and thank you notes, amongst a long list of items.
The P&O Cruises Weddings at Sea package is priced from £1,200 whilst the package from Cunard costs from $3,400 on Queen Mary 2 and $2,800 on Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria.
P&O Cruises offers an additional 5kg luggage allowance for the couple if travelling on a fly-cruise holiday.
