Damian Perry, previously ceo of Cox and Kings, is now md for Hurtigruten in the APAC region following William Harber's move to president, the Americas at the expedition travel company.

Perry has a strong history in experiential travel with Intrepid Travel, Peak and Flight Centre.

'We believe Damian’s approach, transparency, values and expertise in partner relations combined with his strong travel Industry knowledge make him the right person to lead our Hurtigruten APAC team transition. We will look at the long-term opportunities across the APAC region and build on the established strategic direction,' said Geir Kronbæck, vp global sales at Hurtigruten.

Talking about Perry's time with Cox and King, Kronbæck added, 'he played the pivotal role in driving Hurtigruten growth in Australia and New Zealand securing the Hurtigruten partnership and driving real growth for their business and region; and more broadly we feel he will be a great addition to our entire business.'

Perry will work closely with the management in Norway, and directly with Kronbæck. The APAC team is based in Hong Kong, Tokyo and now Melbourne.

'I look forward to getting down to business with this exceptionally innovative and forward thinking company and build on the strong foundation they have established in recent years,' said Perry.

He will be working with regional agents and partners selling the Hurtigruten Explorer product to Antarctica and the Arctic, in addition to building on the Norway coastal cruising offered.

Hurtigruten is building two premium hybrid exploration ships with Roald Amundsen heading to Antarctica in 2018 and Fridtjof Nansen's inaugural sailings in 2019 will be along the Norwegian coast.
