Debuting Silver Moon among five Silversea ships for the Med in 2020

Silver Moon will sail its maiden voyage on Aug. 6, 2020, departing Trieste for Civitavecchia (Rome) on an 11-day cruise. The sister 2017's Silver Muse will be one of five Silversea ships sailing the Mediterranean in 2020, before crossing the Atlantic to Fort Lauderdale in Novmber.

Silver Moon's inaugural season is among 191 newly announced voyages for Silversea Cruises between summer 2020 and winter 2021. Pre-sale bookings opened today to Venetian Society members (past passengers) before sales open to the general public Oct. 1.

Four ships in Northern Europe, three in Alaska and Russian Far East

As well as five ships and 54 voyages in the Mediterranean— including a 37-day, 28-port grand voyage—Silversea will offer four ships and 29 voyages in Northern Europe, three ships and 21 voyages in Alaska and the Russian Far East and two ships and 10 voyages in the Arctic, among sailings in many other regions. More overnights in port will be offered than ever before. Every cruise longer than seven nights in Europe and Canada/New England will include an overnight port stay.

Polar program

Silversea's polar program will comprise 10 itineraries and 83 destinations in the Arctic and 11 itineraries and 26 destinations in Antarctica, including East Antarctica and the Ross Sea. Rare voyages to New Zealand’s sub-Antarctic islands and Australia’s Macquarie Island (all UNESCO World Heritage Sites) will enable travelers to view vast colonies of penguins and thousands of seals, while visits to Churchill and Hudson Bay in Manitoba, Canada, will take go to the ‘polar bear capital of the world’ and the home of the world’s largest beluga whale population, respectively.

Silver Cloud and Silver Explorer will make concurrent crossings of the Northwest and Northeast Passage.

Iceland in-depth

In Iceland, Silversea will offer more immersive experiences on both classic and expedition voyages, with new itineraries. Departing June 29 from Reykjavik, Silver Wind will circumnavigate the island in nine days. Other sample itineraries in Iceland include London to Reykjavik via Ireland and Reykjavik to London via Norway. As in 2019, the line’s flagship, Silver Muse, will spend a full summer deployed in Alaska in 2020.

Silversea will return to the Canary Islands on two voyages departing April 16 and Sept. 25, 2020, and Istanbul on two different itineraries, departing May 30 and Aug. 2, 2020. Moreover, the line will make maiden calls at El Hierro, Spain; Fishguard, Wales; Nordfjordeid, Norway; Siglufjörður and Patreksfjordur, Iceland; Durres, Albania; and Klaksvik, Faroe Islands.

Free air and transfers included

For the first time, Silversea travelers will get free economy-class air and transfers included as standard on all newly released voyages. Exceptions and market-specific conditions may apply.
